Inisiasi 2

Roman Jacobson (1959)
An interpretation of verbal signs by means of some other language (interlingual translation)

Eugene A. Nida and Charles Taber (1974:12)
Translating consists in reproducing in the receptor language the closest natural equivalent of the source-language message, first in terms of meaning and secondly in terms of style.

Mary Snell-Hornby (1988)
Translation is a complex act of communication in which SL-author, the reader as translator and translator as TL-author and the TL-reader interact.

Susan Bassnett (1990)
The rendering of a source language (SL) text into the target language (TL) so as to ensure that (1) the surface meaning of the two will be approximately similar and (2) the structures of the SL will be preserved as closely as possible but not so closely that the TL structures will be seriously distorted.

Basil Hatim and Ian Mason (1997:1)
Translation is looked upon as an act of communication which attempts to relay, across cultural and linguistic boundaries, another act of communication (which may have been intended for different purposes and different readers/hearers).

Philipp Satrazny (2005: 1120)
Translation occurs when a message or text produced in one language (the ‘source’ language) is converted into a message or text in another language (the ‘receptor’ or ‘target’ language).
